In an outstanding first year for the club 18-year-old recruit Harison Edwards has won the 2023 Reserves Best & Fairest count. Harison’s made his club debut in game 5 & didn’t poll his first votes until game 7. His back end of the season was sensational which including making an impressive senior debut against Rocherlea in round 12.
Leading into the count the general feel around the club was that this was going to be a close one. That expectation came true with just 3 votes separating the leading 5 players with two games to go. Going into the last game Harison Edwards had opened up a 4 vote lead from Matty Bennett, closely followed by Kaleb Williams, Travis Praciak and the 5th placed Ryan Conway just 8 votes behind. With a maximum 10 votes available in the last game all five players were within striking distance of winning.
However, in that last game, an 84 point win against Scottsdale, the other challengers all failed to register a vote. Harison had a great game & polled 7 votes to claim a well-deserved victory.
Harison finished with 47 votes, 11 clear of runner up & previous winner Matty Bennett with 36 votes. Kaleb Williams & Travis Praciak, both with 33, and Ryan Conway 32 rounded out the top 5.
